Review and Reflection of the sorrow of war

The reflection and the review of the book to me in my eyes was a reflection of Phuong and Kien their love was ever lasting forever . The reflection was about Kien going to war but after the wars he end up getting traumatized  by it and writing about his life experiences to get it off his mind.  The reflection of their love was a bond that no one could ever  break. No matter what happens between them kien forever love Phuong . As Kien stated "he tried desperately to forget Phuong, but she was unforgettable. he longed for her still. Nothing lasted forever " (71).  That statement was a reflection because he knew that he love her no matter what she put him through she would remain his lover forever in his heart.   For me reading this book the review of all was don't let your past review to your future. Does the quotation related to a theme ? suffering because, the quotation sound like its passing down sorrow just leave alone to the pain they have left . Does the quotation indicate a conflict? yes because person starts to feel sorrow from another person pain or themselves. I speak now because there may be no other night like this, no time like the present. Does the quotation relates to hope because in the war they don’t know whether they going to make it to the next day or night. Does the quotation relate to a theme ? yes it relates to hope because, they thought they will have time to live they life but going into the army. They end up in the army rushing and watching people die before they eyes begging for their lives.  To what today society issue does the quotation connect ? This issue in today society have something to do with so many men that some feel rush into the army. Some soldiers noticed that war is not for them , miss home, want to escape, and end up risking their life. "Life is here, death is also here ."  " O victorious years and month, o endless suffering and pain." pg. 85-105 Does the quotation relate to a theme ? yes it relates to suffering because, this quote was based on a ghostly rhythm song for people to listen to find where the singer was buried. Does the quotation provide detail about the setting? yes during this setting it had to be after the war into the jungle. '' If you cant identify them by name well be burdened by their deaths for the rest of our lives. This quotation relates to survivors guilt because the soldiers that survive the war have to realize what all happen through the war how they friends or family died in the war zone. yes this quotation indicates a conflict because, soldiers have to go through who all died in their squad what are their names and if they do not be identify then some soldiers will have that heavy load on their shoulders for the rest of their lives.

" The dreams focused and refocused until past scenes and the present became a raging reality within him. " pg. 64-85 This quotation relate to trauma because, in this quotation its stating that  Kien was having raging dreams based on the experiences in the war. Those dreams he start seeing was based on reality and how it was affecting him. His images was double into the past and present. It was showing what's connecting how the smell and the area look. Why that particular area was showing a reflection of a cage to him. Does the quotation indicate a conflict ? yes because it shows how his dreams are becoming to a reality. Even love and sorrow inside an aging man would finally dissipate under the realization that his suffering, his tortured thoughts, were small and meaningless in the overall scheme of things.
